We are joined by some wonderful local businesses at Hoo House in Harpenden from 10am - 12pm. This event is suitable for children from birth to preschool ages.

Hosted and managed by Harpenden Town Council, Harpenden’s Farmers' Market takes place on the fourth Sunday of each month from 10am to 2pm (except December which is the third).

The Market accommodates approximately 70 stalls offering a wide range of produce including: meats, pies, fish, preserves, pickles, jams, honey, cheeses, fruit, vegetables, flowers and plants, fresh bread, cakes and pastries, eggs, beer, wine and liqueurs.

Festival on the Field has gained a reputation as a high-quality family festival where children and families can be entertained in a relaxing, fun and safe environment, attracting up to 3,200 mostly local, people.  The Festival is held on the playing fields of Sir John Lawes School – from where it derives its name.       

The festival is a volunteer-run fund-raising event, organised by the parents’ organisations of Sir John Lawes School and Manland Primary School in Harpenden.  The Festival runs every other year and to date, has raised over £100,000 for both schools!

While it might only be one day, the Hatfield House Battle Proms is a festival for those looking to royally honour the summertime. Taking place in the Queen Elizabeth Oak Field, the evening will be full of celebration - kicking off with a cavalry display, followed up by a gun salute and a spitfire fly past, there'll be a full musical programme for no less than three hours! Be sure to also pre-order your delicious picnic hamper!  

Harpenden's Teddy Bears' Picnic, organised to coincide with National Play Day, is an exciting event for children and their bears. The day is always lively and fun-filled with a variety of free, engaging entertainment and activities.

Exciting entertainment and activities will again be on offer - more information soon!

This event has permanently moved to Rothamsted Park following its success there in 2023. The move allows for more activities, more space for the growing number of attendees and allows use of the play area.

Redbourn Classics is back. There will be more than 300 classic cars plus motorbikes, trucks and tractors on display at the show

The show also includes a Village Fete with stalls, live music, family entertainment, bars and a great range of street food stalls.

It is open to the public – there will be buckets at the entry gates to collect cash donations, the suggested minimum donation is £3 per adult, under 16s FREE.

The whole show is run by volunteers and raises funds for local charities .

The Real Harpenden Beer Festival at Rothamstead

This year it’s The Real Harpenden Beer Festival’s 11th year! The event will coincide with the Harpenden Food and Drink Festival. Over 50 real ales, perries and ciders for you to try.

Raise your glasses… Gin & Jazz returns this October!

On the evening of Friday 4th October, businesses on the historic George Street will once again open their doors for late night shopping and line the street with fabulous gin bars.

With live Jazz music and fantastic food, this free event is a brilliant buzz for all!

Shop, sip & enjoy!

Businesses will be setting up exclusive outside bars providing a variety of delicious gin blends and flavours alongside other popular tipples and non-alcoholic drinks and some will extend their special drinks and offerings inside for customers to enjoy whilst they shop.

Organised by St Albans BID and George Street Retail Association.
