The Cottonmill Gathering 2026
When: Sunday 5th July 12-4pm
Where: The Cottonmill Community & Cycling Centre (CCCC)
Entry: Free
The Cottonmill Gathering has been run now for 6 years. It was formerly known as Larks in the Parks which was a council run event across St Albans.
4 years ago, St Albans District Council decided to scrap Larks in the Parks due to a lack of funds. Cottonmill (Sopwell) was the only area to continue to run the event on their own without any financial support from anyone other than The Sopwell Residents Association (SRA) and our Herts County Councillor, Sandy Walkington, who passionately believes in our little community. The SRA have organised and run the event at no profit for the whole time. This year we are seeking sponsors so that we can make it bigger and better.
We have sourced fairground rides, a mini steam train ride, a bungee trampoline, inflatables, a better PA system for the stage, local artists, circus acts, local small businesses selling what they have created themselves, St Albans Community Pantry (rescued menu), The Daily Dosa (Vegan), Everyone Active (BBQ), hot doughnuts and the South St Albans Churches Afternoon Tea too! That is only a selection of what will be on and it’s FREE to attend!
Come and see what the Cottonmill community has to offer!!
