Woodfired Canteen with Adriana Cavita at Home Farm

Mexican-born Adriana Cavita grew up between Mexico City in Azcapotzalco town and Tlaxcala State in a small village called San Felipe Ixtacuixtla. Her first role in cookery came at the age of 17 as an apprentice at Nicos in Mexico City. Here, she honed her skills on the bakery section before moving on to her first full-time paid job at Pujol - currently ranked at #9 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants - at just 19.

Adriana Cavita’s commitment and skill pushed her to apply for roles in the best restaurants in Mexico - alongside Ferran Adria as Chef de Partie at El Bulli in 2011 and later with Eduardo Garcia at Lalo! These restaurants are famed for their ongoing revolutionary approach to Mexican cooking.

Adriana moved to the UK to work as Head Chef at Peyotito in London and Ibiza. Adriana completed a residency on the rooftop of The Dorchester in June 2021, introducing her food to the capital. Adriana’s debut restaurant Cavita opened in May 2022 to a host of outstanding reviews including The Financial Times, The Evening Standard and The Independent. Her standout approach to Mexican food can be seen in her debut cookbook ‘Cocina Mexicana’, published September 2023. In February 2024, Adriana Cavita’s basement bar is relaunching as El Bar de Cavita, focussing on all Adriana’s favourite things – Margaritas, Mezcal and Mexican street food.

Ronnie Scott's Presents: Izo FitzRoy - A Good Woman

Izo FitzRoy is coming to Elstree, just north of London, this summer! This one-off concert in conjuction with Ronnie Scott’s, will be performed on our magical woodland stage - right on London’s doorstep.

Raw, dynamic performances and honest song writing have become the trademark of gospel and blues singer songwriter Izo FitzRoy. Uplifting harmonies delivered via her powerful lead vocal and jazz tinged keys work, set her apart from contemporaries and have won her play on BBC 6Music, BBC London, JazzFM, a FIP Selection award, the ‘Heavy Rotation’ feature on NPR in the US and strong support from the likes of Clash Magazine, Indie Shuffle, Mixmag and Blues & Soul who featured Izo as a cover star on her second album’s release.

Her songs are built for performance, sincere and compelling lyrics delivered over tight and melodic grooves. She effortlessly transitions from the recorded versions to the live stage with her band’s unique line-up. Shunning typical soul instrumental combinations to instead feature up to 9 gospel backing vocalists, this vocal arsenal provides the perfect foil to her lead, making for truly special live shows.

After years of directing gospel choirs her recording career took off in earnest after writing and recording the bulk of her debut album – ‘Skyline’ while she was living in New Orleans producing a record that channelled her gutsy gospel style and colourful bluesy keys through vintage funk grooves.

At Home Farm is a magical live music venue like no other in Hertfordshire, on London's door-step. Tickets include a pre-show meal served in the meadow, followed by the headline show, nestled in ancient woodland.

General Admission: Includes a pre-show meal

Nick Mulvey: in Association with Communion ONE

Following his 2021 sell-out show, folk royalty - Nick Mulvey is returning to At Home Farm. Mulvey’s music is medicine for the soul and his soundscape compliments our ethereal festoon-lit woodland setting beautifully.

Mulvey’s work pushes boundaries in both songwriting and sound. A founding member of the award-winning British collective Portico Quartet, he left in 2011 to concentrate on his own material. Once solo, he released the Mercury Prize nominated debut album First Mind in 2014, and 2017’s celebrated Wake Up Now, along with a number of EPs. His most recent album, New Mythology, was recorded during the pandemic in Paris with renowned producer Renaud Letang at Studio Ferber.

Nick has a few new projects on the horizon, but in the meantime he is celebrating the anniversary of his debut release First Mind, which features famed tracks such as “Fever to the Form” and“Cucurucu''.

Nick credits his friends and family, and teachers past and present, for helping him arrive at this point and is looking forward to commemorating all of the songs that got him to this moment.

Cellar Door Wines: Sparkling Wine Masterclass and Tasting at St Saviour's

Sparkling Wine Masterclass and Tasting at St Saviour's

We are very excited to be involved again this year with the St Saviour's Church Beer and Fizz Festival 2024! The festival is held over three days, offering fine ales, cider and a selection of fizz curated by the team at Save St Albans’ Pubs and Cellar Door Wines in the unique surroundings of St Saviour’s Church. There will be live music with local bands throughout the weekend and a fantastic choice of street food vendors.

The late afternoon sparkling wine tasting will be presented by Jen Connan of the Hertfordshire Wine School and supported by Cellar Door Wines. Proceeds from the tasting will go to the St Saviour's nominated charities for the weekend.

We will be tasting 6 sparkling wines in total including Champagne, Prosecco, Cava, Crémant and other traditional method wines from around the globe. We will cover rosé, blanc de blanc, blanc de noir, non- vintage and vintage styles. There will be cheese, cured meats and snacks provided to keep you going for the afternoon. You will learn to see and taste the difference between bottle fermented sparkling wine and tank method bubbles and have great fun in the process!

If you have any questions, please call Penny or Geraldine at Cellar Door Wines 01727 85 44 88

Please email us directly if you would like to be seated at a table with friends who have also bought tickets and let us know if you have any allergies or dietary requirements.

Cheers!
