Cellar Door Wines Royal Tokaji Virtual Tasting with Christopher Donaldson MW
Historically the wine and the region were called Tokay or even Tokai in English but the wine is more correctly referred to as Tokaji and the region as Tokaj. The Tokaji wine region also has the distinction of being the first in Europe to be classified.
The majority of Royal Tokaji’s Vineyards are in the Mád commune. These include the 1st growths Szt. Tamás, Nyulászó and Betsek and the 2nd growth Birsalmás. Royal Tokaji’s Mézes Mály vineyard, a great first growth, lies within the Tarcal commune.
Master of Wine and Hungarian wine expert, Chris Donaldson will be here, virtually, to tell us all about these famous wines, that in the past were only reserved for royalty and nobility. We will have the great privilege of trying 3 wines from this historical region including two modern, dry styles with Chris. Don't miss out - book your ticket asap!
