Sister Sledge Live 

With founding member Kathy Sledge and band singing well-loved hits such as ‘Lost in Music’ and ‘We Are Family’ on their ‘Thinking of You’ tour 2023.

About: The Alban Arena has been a premier entertainment venue for top-name shows and large events such as the St Albans Beer and Cider Festival, for over 50 years.

The Big St. Albans Sleep Out  

This event urges volunteers to sleep rough for the night, to raise funds for local charities. There will be live music, workshops, and entertainment.  

Where: Oaklands College, Smallford, Hatfield Rd, Oaklands, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL4 0JA. 
When: Friday 10th November, doors open for registration at 20:00. 
About: The St. Albans Sleep Out was founded in the 1990s to raise awareness and funds for five local charities: Open Door, Centre 33, Emmaus, Herts Young Homeless (hyh) and The Living Room. 
Tickets: There is no cost to take part or a minimum fundraising target, the event asks that you raise as much as you can.

Mental Elf Festive Fun Run 

Walk/run or skip your way round this 5K route for charity - Christmas attire encouraged! 

Where: Oaklands College, Smallford, Hatfield Rd, Oaklands, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL4 0JA. 
About: A family-friendly, non-competitive event to raise awareness and funds for mental health.  
When: Sunday 26th November, 11:00 
Tickets: Start from £10 and then raise what you can for charity in sponsorship. If you wish to support a runner but not take part, choose a ‘free spectator’ ticket.

St. Albans Christmas Cracker Street Festival

The annual Christmas fair comes back to the city centre to enthral all ages of the St Albans community.  

Where: St Peter's Street and Marketplace, St Albans city centre, Hertfordshire. 
When: Sunday 19th November, 12:00-18:00 
About: A free event for the whole family with food and arts and crafts stalls, live music, and plenty of festive light installations.

Elf the Musical  

St Albans Musical Theatre Company presents the family comedy, ‘Elf the Musical’ based on the film. Based on the hilarious Christmas film, ‘Elf the Musical’ is about Buddy who has been brought up as an elf, little realising he’s a human. A trip to New York reveals all to him.

When: Tuesday 7th – Saturday 11th November, various times. 
About: St. Albans Musical Theatre Company is a local amateur drama group who are passionate about the musical arts. Past shows include School of Rock, Hairspray, Grease and Annie.

St. Albans Festive Gift Show 

Festive fun and shopping with over 150 exhibitors. Haddons Events are a family-run business that organise trade fairs, shows, and events across the country.

When: Saturday 11th November, 10:00-17:00 and Sunday 12th November, 10:00-16:00
About: Oaklands College is a St Albans based campus originally established in 1921, which offers about 1,500 courses to around 10,000 students.

The charity Home-Start are raising funds this November with their annual gala dinner. Get glammed up and enjoy a three-course meal in wonderful settings, all in the name of philanthropy.

St.Albans Fireworks Spectacular 2023 

Impressive fireworks display for all ages, with proceeds going to local charities Open Door and Youth Talk. Food will be on sale.  

Where: Verulamium Park – access from St Albans Cathedral, Sumpter Yard, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL1 1BY
When: Saturday 4 November, gates open from 6pm, fireworks at 19:30.  
About: Verulamium Park has 100 acres of open parkland, with a lake, woodland, Roman ruins and mosaic, children’s play area, volleyball court, splash park and café. All in view of the majestic cathedral.  
Tickets: Early bird tickets until 10am on Friday 3 November. Adult - £10 (£7.50 early bird), child (over 5s) - £5 (£4 early bird). Family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) - £25 (£17.50 early bird).

The village hosts their annual switching on of their Christmas lights with plenty of fun to be had.  

Where: Crinkle Crankle Garden, Wheathampstead, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL4 8FJ and Wheathampsted High Street, St Albans, Hertfordshire. 
When: Thursday 23rd November, at the Crinkle Crankle garden from 16:00-20:00 and on the high street 17:30-20:00.  
About: Wheathampstead Parish Council is putting on an extravaganza to launch the Christmas season with the switching on off the lights, market stalls, fairground rides, carols, and Santa’s grotto.
