Meet The Member - Shivani Ladwa of Heal Wellness

We caught up with the founder of Heal Wellness to learn about the vision behind this St Albans–based clinic, exploring how a passion for supporting practitioners and the community evolved into a hub for longevity, recovery, and holistic wellbeing through innovative, evidence-based therapies.

We are happy to have Heal Wellness as part of the We Are St Albans community! Could you tell us a bit about your journey — what did you do before Heal Wellness, and what inspired you to create a clinic focused on longevity, recovery, and holistic wellbeing?

We are excited to be part of We Are St. Albans!. Before launching Heal Wellness, I worked closely with healthcare and wellness practitioners and saw how many were limited by inflexible clinic models. The original idea behind Heal Wellness was to support practitioners by giving them high-quality space, flexibility, and the freedom to focus on their patients without unnecessary constraints.

As the clinic grew, we naturally evolved into the wellness and recovery space, responding to what both practitioners and clients were asking for. We introduced evidence-based technologies such as cryotherapy, infrared sauna, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy to support pain management, recovery, and general wellbeing.

Today, Heal Wellness is both a home for practitioners and a place where the community can access modern, preventative wellness solutions designed to help people feel better, move better, and stay well for longer.

Heal Wellness brings the future of wellness to clients with state-of-the-art technologies such as Cryotherapy, Infrared Sauna, and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). What do you find most rewarding about helping clients accelerate healing, enhance performance, and optimise their long-term health?

What I find most rewarding about helping clients accelerate healing, enhance performance, and optimise their long-term health is seeing how wellness ripples out into the whole community. It’s not just about a single treatment it’s about creating a space where people feel supported, connected, and inspired to look after themselves and each other. Community wellbeing thrives when individuals feel they have access to tools and support that help them be at their best, physically, mentally, and socially and that’s exactly the world we want to build here in St Albans.

At Heal Wellness, we bring the future of wellness to clients with state-of-the-art technologies like cryotherapy, infrared sauna, and HBOT, offering powerful support for recovery, pain relief, stress reduction, and overall vitality.

What motivates me most is watching individuals feel more energised, more resilient, and more connected to their own health journeys, and then seeing that confidence spread into friendships, workplaces, and our local neighbourhood. There’s huge strength in community wellness — when we support one another in taking care of our minds and bodies, we build a stronger, healthier town together.

Being based in St Albans, what do you enjoy most about working within this community, and how does the local area influence the way Heal Wellness delivers its services?

I really enjoy working in St Albans because of its strong sense of community. People are friendly and genuinely want to support one another. We’ve been speaking with many local businesses that are keen to collaborate with us and grow together. The power of word of mouth has been incredible; people have visited us after using our services and then returned with friends or family. It’s been such a refreshing experience.

Your approach is guided by the Five C’s: Compassion, Care, Consistency, Collaboration, and Comfort. How do these principles shape the way Heal Wellness supports clients across physical therapy, mental well-being, and complementary treatments?

At Heal Wellness, the Five C’s — Compassion, Care, Consistency, Collaboration, and Comfort — are not just words, they’re the way we help people thrive with real results.

Our approach starts with Compassion and Care, ensuring every person feels listened to and supported from the moment they walk in. Whether someone is coming in for relief from pain, stress, or simply wanting to feel more energised, we personalise each experience so that advanced therapies are always tailored to their unique goals.

Consistency is what turns occasional treatments into meaningful long-term wellbeing. By guiding clients through a structured programme — combining powerful tools like whole-body cryotherapy to reduce inflammation and boost recovery, infrared sauna to enhance circulation and relaxation, and HBOT to support deeper tissue repair and overall vitality — we help people build sustainable progress, not just momentary relief.

Collaboration means we work closely with clients and our qualified practitioners to create integrated plans that connect physical therapy, mental wellbeing, and recovery technologies. People aren’t treated in isolation their whole health and lifestyle are part of the conversation, so outcomes are more meaningful and long-lasting.

Lastly, Comfort plays a huge role in every session. From our calming clinic environment to the way treatments are delivered, we make sure clients feel safe, relaxed, and supported at every step — because wellbeing only happens when people can truly be present in their healing journey.

Together, these principles help us guide people not just to feel better today, but to recover faster, optimise performance, and enjoy greater long-term health within our community.

With a focus on personalised rejuvenation experiences, how does Heal Wellness tailor treatments to meet the unique needs of each client?

At Heal Wellness, we don’t provide formal treatment plans, but we do take the time to understand what each person is hoping to address whether that’s pain, recovery, stress or general wellbeing and then recommend the technologies that are most likely to support their goals in a safe, comfortable way.

For example, we might suggest cryotherapy to help reduce inflammation, support recovery and ease soreness; hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) when enhanced oxygen delivery could aid healing and cellular support; or an infrared sauna session to promote circulation, relaxation and detoxification — all based on what someone is experiencing and what they want to achieve.

We always explain what each therapy does, answer questions, and help people feel confident and informed about their choices so they can experience the benefits for themselves with support and guidance.

Wellness is more than the absence of illness. How does Heal Wellness help clients build long-term resilience, balance, and overall well-being alongside addressing immediate concerns?

When our patients come in to see us, we will always support and advise them depending on the issue to come and use the machines regularly so you can really start to see a difference. One of our core values of heal is Consistency, which is extremely important when it comes to long term resilience, balance and overall wellbeing. To enable our patients to have that consistency, we are introducing memberships which allows them flexibility and consistency in their wellbeing journey.

The health and wellness industry is constantly evolving. How does Heal Wellness stay at the forefront of innovation while integrating traditional expertise into its services?

At Heal Wellness, we stay at the forefront of health and wellness innovation by combining state-of-the-art technologies like cryotherapy, infrared sauna, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy with a deeply patient-centred, evidence-informed approach. These advanced therapies help support recovery, reduce inflammation, enhance circulation, and promote overall wellbeing in ways traditional methods alone cannot always achieve.

At the same time, our work is grounded in traditional therapeutic principles — listening closely to each person, tailoring care to individual goals, and using our clinical experience to guide every treatment. This means innovation is always used with purpose and compassion, enhancing physical therapy, mental wellbeing, and complementary treatments rather than replacing the human element of care.

We are always attending health and wellness seminars to be in touch with the health and wellness industry. In addition to holding events with local practitioners to help educate patients and prospective customers on how beneficial these wellness technologies are.

Looking ahead, are there any new treatments, therapies, or initiatives that you’re particularly excited to introduce at Heal Wellness in St Albans?

For the moment we are looking to focus all our efforts on the 3 machines that are becoming popular amongst the local community in st albans. However, this is not to say that we wouldn’t introduce any others. Keep a look out on our socials and our website for our updates.

For people who might be unsure about exploring advanced wellness technologies, what would you say to encourage them to try Cryotherapy, HBOT, or Infrared Sauna, and experience the benefits for themselves?

If someone is unsure about trying advanced wellness technologies like Cryotherapy, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), or Infrared Sauna, here’s how you might encourage them in a clear, reassuring, and inspiring way:

Exploring new wellness tools can feel a bit unfamiliar — and that’s completely normal. What’s important to know is that therapies like cryotherapy, HBOT, and infrared sauna are designed to work with your body’s natural healing systems and offer benefits that many clients notice even after their first session.

Cryotherapy uses controlled cold to help reduce inflammation, ease muscle soreness, and support recovery — many people also report feeling a lift in mood and energy afterward.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) increases the amount of oxygen your body can use, which can boost healing, support circulation, and help the body recover faster from stress or strain.

Infrared Sauna gently heats the body with deeply penetrating warmth that can help relax muscles, improve circulation, and support overall relaxation and wellbeing.

These technologies are non-invasive and easily tailored to suit individual comfort levels. Many people come in feeling curious — and leave surprised at how renewed, lighter, and more resilient they feel. The best way to find out what works for you is simply to experience it for yourself in a supportive environment.

And of course, we always take time to explain each therapy, answer questions, and ensure treatments are comfortable and appropriate for your needs.

When you’re not at the clinic, where’s your favourite place in St Albans to relax, recharge, or enjoy some personal wellbeing time?

My favourite place to relax and recharge and think is the hub on Verulam restaurant.

Finally, please tell us a fun fact about yourself.

A fun fact about me is that I love karaoke and music but I’m a really bad singer.
