Winter by Indigo Holistic

Sparkly sprinkles of magical twinkles descend upon us through crispy cold mornings and scattered patterns of frosted pathways. The fresh winter air awakens our senses and captures our breath in the stillness as we live in the light of day and retreat when the dark night gradually creeps in.

Powerful transformations can occur when we allow our energies to flow with those of mother earth, she leads the way with her persistent show of continuity and enriches our own transitioning by subtly showcasing hers. Gently observing the rich evergreens amongst the deciduous happenings all around, igniting nature with bold greens that bring a sense of no limitations to our journeys ahead and connect us with our hearts.

As we twirl in festivities of tradition and nostalgia through parties and turkey dinners with close friends and family, we navigate Christmas and gradually find our way into the New year. Here we are greeted by a calmness and are simultaneously propelled into a curious lull of serenity, giving us one of the best opportunities in the year to be still.

Stillness represents being present, in all aspects, in our breath, our space and in life and we all need this moment. If you give yourself the time, you can create a profound connection here, allowing your intentions to be set and newness to be delivered into your next chapter of existence, whatever that looks like for you!

Winter holds us in comfort and warmth, it encourages us to rest and reset and it transfers our thought process into reflection. Spend time gathering those golden moments of the year that has past, give yourself the joy of full awareness without regrets. Fill a day with sentiment and don’t forget to have a few hours of participating in absolutely nothing.

Invite the season in without reluctance, challenge yourself to gather up the old and consciously make way for the new, watch Netflix for 6 hours, layer yourself up and go for an aimless stroll listening to music. Make time for cosy connections, stuff your face with chocolate, create new intentions and sip a freshly made cocktail/mocktail.

Be, see and do whatever takes your fancy, take the pressure off life for a few months and see what happens.

One of my favourite treats this time of year is an Indian head massage, fuelling my senses with nurturing energies that complete my grounding into the hibernation season. This is closely followed by an invigorating cold-water dip, preferably in the sea but a safe lake/ body of water will also do, bringing me that tantalising adrenaline to meet the need of continuous challenge.

The Selenite crystal is possibly the best one to have with you in the winter, promoting clearing within the physical/emotional bodies and all the rubbish we hold on to. I personally selenite the crap out of myself daily from November through to March just to keep my soul cleansed and charged ready for the action coming my way.

Fall in love with the months ahead, change it up and always remember to breathe!
