'Wild Feasts' Supper Club at Oxmoor Farm
’Wild Feasts’ Supper Club at Oxmoor Farm
Oxmoor Farm is located in the idyllic Chiltern hills in Buckinghamshire and they are hosting a series of supper clubs held on Saturdays throughout the summer to celebrate the very best in local and seasonal produce.
The pop-up supper club will seat diners at two long dining tables under a tented roof where guests will enjoy a multi-course feast prepared by several talented chefs including: The Towpath Café's Joe Woodhouse (9 July), The Conduit's Brendan Eades (23 July), organic farmer Xanthe Gladstone and food stylist Clare Cole (6 August), Silo's Max Mclean and Ed Tejada (27 August), and ex-River Café chef George Williams (10 September).
Friends Paddy Maynard and Harry Hope-Morley are the two faces behind this project. Paddy and Harry have previously said ‘Oxmoor is on a path to no dig and regenerative practices, growing naturally high-quality ingredients’. Everything that has been cooked at the supper clubs will be sourced from local farms and growers, or from Oxmoor itself, guided by the ingredients available and prepared over open flames.
We had the absolute pleasure of experiencing one of their recent supper club evenings hosted by Xanthe Gladstone - an organic farmer, sustainability advocate and chef based in Wales and Clare Cole who currently divides her time between cooking at Towpath in Hackney and working in food styling, assisting on books for Melissa Hemsley and Pasta Grannies.
Xanthe and Clare served a delicious five course vegetarian menu featuring the best of this seasons produce, inspired by what grows locally, and we couldn’t fault any of the dishes.
The quality of the food was incredible, the freshness, layers of flavour, seasoning and flame grilled elements were delicious.
In addition to the complimentary cocktail that we received on arrival, there was a selection of wines from the Westwell Vineyard (which was our chosen drink for the evening) and Langham Wines, beers from the Small Beer Co. and Campfire Gin from Puddingstone Distillery, along with a selection of softs.
If fire pits, fairy lights, elegantly dressed tables, stunning views of nothing but fields, healthy, fresh food and good wine is your thing, then you will not be disappointed.
There is even a complimentary, return shuttle service from High Wycombe station (if you wish to travel from London), by selecting the option along with your ticket, so if you plan on making the most of your evening then this is a brilliant option.
We had a wonderful evening, meeting lovely people and eating some incredible locally sourced seasonal food and will certainly be back soon!
