As you all must know by now, we are big fans of Cellar Door Wines - our member, and independent wine merchant in St. Albans that specialises in wines from small, boutique vineyards and we really do love it when they have a wine tasting fair.
We were lucky enough to attend their Christmas Wine Fair recently, which was their second in-person tasting this year and their first Christmas tasting since 2019 due to the pandemic!
However, that didn’t stop people from coming. There was an array of wonderful producers housed safely within the shop itself and unit next door, giving everybody the opportunity to taste over 50 different styles of still, sparkling, fortified and sweet wine from around the globe.
The brilliant thing about the wine fairs at Cellar Door Wines is that after talking to the wine experts and producers, you come away with so much knowledge and history about each wine, their processes, wine regions, grapes, tasting notes and background of the creators, making the whole experience of choosing and purchasing wine so much more special than just picking one up from a supermarket.
The ticket included snacks of savoury and sweet treats including crisps, chocolate, and olives to keep you going for the afternoon and Adam from Mozzarella Fellas was selling pizza from his van which was the perfect treat after our tasting session.
Well done to Penny, her team and all of the wonderful producers and representatives for hosting such an informative, fun and delicious wine fair. We highly recommend the wine tasting events at Cellar Door Wines, and we will see you at the next one.
