'Best New Business In Hertfordshire' Finalist!

We are absolutely delighted to have been nominated and accepted into the finals for ‘Best New Business in Hertfordshire’ in association with Little Ankle Biters Awards 2021. The first round saw an impressive turnout of over 12,000 nominations and over 500 businesses, organisations and individuals being recognised across the 17 categories, so we feel very honoured to be a finalist!

We created We Are St. Albans shortly after lockdown began in 2020 as a way to try and help connect local people to local businesses and be a friendly guide of what is going on in our community. Recently, we have created our website which features a ‘love local, shop local’ business directory which showcases the colourful range of exciting businesses that call St. Albans home. You will also be able to read inspiring interviews featuring local talent on our blog and see the latest events.

We have been overwhelmed by the response and kind feedback that we have received by locals in our community since we started. There are so many wonderful businesses out there providing first class services that are facing the toughest of times and desperately need all of us to show our support. Small and local businesses are the beating heart of any community and we need them. But they also need you. It has been really enjoyable working with many local companies that have become part of We Are St. Albans. We have been able to organise fun competitions and giveaways for residents, which have not only showcased what local businesses have to offer, but have also boosted community morale in these unprecedented times.

Covid-19 has shown just how imaginative and resilient small businesses can be, and how many have found ways to adapt and respond to the constantly changing circumstances which has been wonderful to see.

We wanted to say a massive thank you to anyone that has supported and nominated us! We are extremely grateful and we also wanted to say a huge congratulations and good luck to all the other finalists!
